Business Myths

THE BUSINESS OF REDESIGN FOR THE CUSTOMER

MYTH #1

The business of redesign is mainly about creating that picture-perfect before and after room showcasing your own design skills.

Turned off by design shows where the designer’s preferences come above the customers? When taking our Redesign Training Course, you learn to empower your customers by your respect for them, their home, and their possessions. You’ll create rooms that fit their lifestyle and highlight their possessions.

MYTH #2

The market for redesign services consists of high-income families with lots of disposable income.

Want to appeal to different markets or explore new ways to use your skills? In our Redesign Training, you’ll learn how to market your redesign business to all kinds of homes and living situations. You’ll also explore different niches you can develop including commercial, hospitality, and real estate home staging.

MYTH #3

Redesign courses are only for those ready to launch devoted redesign businesses.

All kinds of professionals benefit from taking an Interior Redesign Course. You should also consider this training if you are:

  • A trained interior designer who wants to improve your furniture placement skills,
  • A drapery specialist,
  • A fine artist or faux painter,
  • A real estate professional, or
  • A stay-at-home parent who wants a beautiful home now with the potential of a business later.

MYTH #4

To be successful redesigner you need to bring to the table an impressive array of already existing skills including artistic ability, corporate know-how and marketing skills.

The beautiful thing about redesign is it’s a set of skills that can be learned. In our Redesign Course, you’ll learn room redesign from the ground up. All you need is a beginning eye for design, a desire to help others, and a drive to learn.

THE BUSINESS OF STAGING: TURNING A HOME INTO A PRODUCT TO BE SOLD

With the advent of television shows like Designed to Sell on HGTV as well as many other real estate staging shows, most people understand the value of hiring a real estate home stager to prepare their home as a product to sell in the real estate market; often producing higher prices and lower market times.

MYTH #1

Real estate staging is just removing personal items from the house, cleaning, and maybe adding a fresh coat of paint.

Staging goes way beyond the basics of decluttering and cleaning. The way a home flows and the ability to have a listing appeal emotionally to the largest numbers of buyers is what it takes to make a quick and profitable sale. A Qualified Staging Professional can make that happen.

MYTH #2

Real Estate Staging is only valuable in higher end homes, there are few of those in my area.

Staging will work for any home and any budget, large or small, from a condo to a mc-mansion.

SRG will teach you the process that will work in any environment. We will also help you to recognize and address each seller’s situation and reason for selling.

MYTH #3

As a Realtor, I’m unsure as to how the Staging course can benefit my business.

Staging early in the home selling process is when it has the chance to be most effective. Offering staging in your agreement with your client whether you are doing the staging yourself or working as a team with another SRG certified Professional, you will be able to add value to your listing service.

MYTH #4

I saw a few books and online courses that I can buy and learn on my own.

SRG believes that we all learn in different ways. Some learn by reading, some by listening, and most by doing. Our course allows you all three avenues to learn, the greatest advantage to the Staging Redesign Group is that we offer you a ‘hands-on’ experience staging actual properties. We also have a 6 student limit to allow each student the benefit of more experience in the homes and more one on one attention from your trainer.

Many thanks again for all of the great information and advice that you gave us. It is empowering to look at your home from the perspective of being a seller. Or, in my case, of preparing to be a seller just in case something in my life changes that forces me to become a seller. One thing I know now is that I am nowhere near ready to move.
Take care and enjoy the almost Spring weather.

Shock? I could not believe my living room/dining room could look so good. I now have more floor space and the rooms are balanced.

Creatively “out of the box” thinking. I was a little skeptical, but now I’m a believer.
