FAQ

I have an “eye” for what looks good; do I need professional training?

Absolutely! You may know what you like and what looks good together, but a course in Interior Redesign will give you the right process and the basic design principles to follow in order to transform any type of room into the most beautiful space it can be.

If I just want to do redesign for family, friends and myself, is this program for me?

Whether redesigning for yourself or others as a professional, SRG training gives you valuable skills and knowledge which will allow you to be the best at what you do.

I’ve already taken design class(s); will I still learn anything?

Again, absolutely! Design and Redesign, although similar in their mission to make interiors beautiful and interesting, are still very different. Redesign teaches the “use-what-you-have” mentality and the proven process of Interior Redesign to produce the desired result.

Will I be able to join professional organizations after taking SRG training?

Yes, you will be eligible to join several professional organizations, including, RESA, (Real Estate Staging Association), the Design 360 Network and when you take the 5 day dual certification class you receive a free one year membership in the Association of Design Education.

I’ve never owned a business; will the SRG training help me start one?

SRG gives a plethora of information on business as well as the forms and basics needed to help start your own business. Information regarding marketing, business, contacts, and free advertising are just some of the subjects covered in the business section. You are free to use any and all forms used by SRG in their business at no extra charge! This gives you a “quick start” on getting your business up and running.

Will SRG training prepare you for the realities of being an entrepreneur?

No matter how talented you are at staging or decorating, if you don’t know how to do the following tasks, you will not make a living at this business: price your services properly, cost effective marketing of your business, promoting yourself to the right audience, creating your own portfolio, how to find potential clients, and get media attention.

When the course is over, will SRG still be a resource for furthering mentoring?

We believe that “once our student, always our student”. The SRG will always keep you updated on Professional Organizations and affiliations that will help build and support your business as well as the Redesign & Staging Industry. SRG alumni also receive the benefit of ongoing information, industry news and ideas to keep their business fresh and exciting. The SRG wants each and every student to reach their highest potential and be successful, whatever that means to each individual and their business.

What organization have recognized you as a professional?

What should I wear?

It’s best to wear casual, comfortable clothes (no belts) as we will be in homes moving furniture. You must bring a clean pair of gym shoes to wear while in the client’s home. Any jewelry worn on your hands & wrists could become a safety issue as well as the potential to scratch furniture. We suggest you leave jewelry at home, earrings are okay.

Client Endorsement

Many thanks again for all of the great information and advice that you gave us. It is empowering to look at your home from the perspective of being a seller. Or, in my case, of preparing to be a seller just in case something in my life changes that forces me to become a seller. One thing I know now is that I am nowhere near ready to move.
Take care and enjoy the almost Spring weather.

Shock? I could not believe my living room/dining room could look so good. I now have more floor space and the rooms are balanced.
